The Board of Trustees of Forrest County General Hospital will receive sealed proposals at the office of the President of Forrest County General Hospital, 6051 Highway 49 South, Hattiesburg, Mississippi 39401-7243 (Post Office Box 16389, Hattiesburg, MS 39404-6389), until 10:00 am, Friday, October 25, 2019, for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment to perform construction of the Walk & Exercise Trail at Forrest General Hospital, located at 6051 U.S. Hwy 49, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, by the plans and specifications prepared by Landarc Consulting Group, Inc., Hattiesburg, Mississippi, dated September 24, 2019, immediately after which time said sealed proposals shall be publicly opened and read in the Oak Room of Forrest County General Hospital.

It is recommended all bidders attend a Pre-Bid meeting held October 9, 2019, 10:30 am local time at the parking lot of the corner of Camp St. & Hwy. 49 Frontage Road, north of Forrest General Hospital, to walk the project site and answer any questions.

A single contract shall be let for the complete project.

Detailed drawings and specifications are on file and may be examined at the office of Landarc Consulting Group, Inc., 607 Corinne Street, Suite B-1, Hattiesburg, Mississippi 39401; and are also on file in the office of the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Forrest County General Hospital (office of the President), 6051 Highway 49 South, Hattiesburg, MS 39401-7243.

Bidders may obtain complete sets of drawings and specifications from Plan House by going to the Landarc Consulting Group Online Plan Room at www.landarcplans.com, Plan House is located at 1A Churchill Street, (near Buffalo Wild Wings, off I 59), Hattiesburg, Mississippi 39402 Phone 601 336-6378.

Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate only upon the blank bid forms provided with the drawings and general conditions and must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check or acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the base bid. Said security to be forfeited, as liquidated damages, not penalty, by a bidder who may be awarded the contract, but who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute the contract and post the required performance and payment bonds in the form and amount, and within the time specified. The bid bond, or the certified check, if used in lieu thereof, shall be payable unconditionally to Forrest County General Hospital.

Bids on the project must be received on or before the time specified above, and no bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time and date for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. All bids submitted must comply with the requirements of Chapter 3, Title 31 (Sections 31-3-1, et. seq.) of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended, and the performance of any contract shall be bonded in accordance with Chapter 5, Title 31 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.

Bidders who are non-residents of the State of Mississippi must also comply with the provisions of Section 31-3-21(3) of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.
